13 Chicago schools gearing up for adding 90 minutes to the school day
As of Tuesday, teachers at four additional schools had voted for the extended schedule, bringing the total to 13 schools whose teachers are willing to defy the Chicago Teachers Union, securing bonuses for themselves and financial incentives for their schools. Six of those schools will start their new schedules Monday; the rest will adopt it in the next few weeks or at the beginning of the second semester.
